Mohan Rangan is a well known musician who was inspired to learn flute from his father Sri H. D. Govindaraj, whom he lost early in his life. At an early age, in 1979, he started his flute career under the tutelage of Vidwan S.A. Sashidhar at Vijaya College of Music, Bangalore. He pursued advanced tutoring from Sangeetha Kalarathna Prof. H.V. Krishnamurthy, Principal, Vijaya College of Music.
Prominent critics from The Hindu and Sruthi Magazine have recognised Mohan and his brother Ravi Kiran as having "regaled the audience with their melodious flute duet". They have been recognized for their "accuracy of form of ragas" and neat "swaraprasthara". Mohan is a graded All India Radio artist.
By profession Mohan works as a software engineer in Synopsys, Inc, striving to do his best in two careers. Mohan's goal is to grow immensely and gain experience and popularity by playing in prestigious locations while maintaining manodharma and adherence to tradition.
Hemmige V. Srivatsan began his tutelege under Prof. Anoor S. Ramakrishna, Principal of the Ayyanar Music College in Bangalore at a very young age. Since 1984, Srivatsan had the unique opportunity of accompanying Sangeeta Kalanidhi Professor Palghat K.V. Narayanaswamy in a series of concerts in the U.S. and Canada. Following this, Srivatsan became a disciple of KVN, and was inspired to learn the art of singing from him as well. Srivatsan has toured the U.S., India, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and other regions with his Guru and has also provided vocal support for him. Srivatsan has performed both as a violinist and as a vocalist at all the prestigious venues in Chennai and all over India & the U.S. As violinist, he has accompanied numerous other leading musicians such as Sri Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, Smt. M.S. Subbulakshmi, Sri T. Viswanathan, Sri N. Ramani, Sri T.V. Sankaranarayanan, Sri T.N. Seshagopalan, Sri R.K. Srikantan, Trichur Sri V. Ramachandran, Sri D.K. Jayaraman, and Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan. As an accompanist to KVN, he participated in the 1988 Adelaide Arts Festival in Australia and has been featured in many albums with his guru and other musicians. Srivatsan is widely regarded as the protege' and prime male disciple of Sri KVN and is also recognized today as the leading exponent of the Ariyakudi/KVN vocal tradition. He is an ‘A’ grade artiste of the All India Radio. Srivatsan resides with his wife & musician Subhapriya Srivatsan and sons in the San Francisco Bay area.
Sriram was introduced to carnatic music at a very early age by his father Sri. P.S.Raghavan, himself an accomplished mridangist. Sriram had his initial lessons in mridangam from Shri. P.S.Srinivasan, a senior disciple of Shri Palghat Mani Iyer. At the age of thirteen, he underwent advanced training under Padmashri Shri Palghat Raghu. Sriram has played in most of the major sabhas in Chennai including the Music Academy, Thamizh Isai Sangam, Krishna Gana Sabha, Bharath Kalachar, and Nadopasana. Since 1998, he has been a resident of the San Francisco bay area, where he regularly accompanies leading local artists.
